Why didn't I think of that? Great way to build a Compost Bin with Straw Bales

I love to read Hobby Farms Magazine ! They always have a good idea or two...or four million! Things I haven't thought about before!

While looking through their online edition and with a little help from Pinterest where they first pinned the idea...I found this.

Hay bales are great for all sorts of things besides feeding animals!

What if - you arranged them as so - and used the middle for a temporary compost .... in an area you thought of using in the future for a food plot?

Awesome idea in my book!

Anyway, if you want the whole scoop you'll have to go here -

Rural Living goes to New York!

This fall we were blessed to be able to make a trip to New York City. Our oldest son met this amazing young woman and they were married at in a very unique venue, The Strand Bookstore in their rare book room. It was a sweet wedding.

We stayed just blocks from Union Square and were able to visit the farmers market - quite impressive!!

This is a quite cold ME at Union Square!

And of course a trip to New York City couldn't be complete without getting a glimpse of lady liberty! The other picture is of World Trade Center One...taken from the kids room way up high in the fabulous hotel the W.

It was a great trip but too short - we were only there for 48 hours!!
